This new grandson is just so sweet. I am enjoying my cuddle time with him.

I hate to admit that I have had the same upholstery on my dining room chairs for 19 years. I have wanted to change it for awhile but every time I have looked for fabric I haven’t found what I was looking for. Just before we left for Utah Rick pointed out a hole in one of the seats. Now, it had to be done.
I was lucky, JoAnn’s was having a 50% off sale and this time I had to find something. It’s not something I’ll keep on them forever or maybe I will. It was my first attempt at recovering anything and so I’m not really happy with the way they turned out. I can live with them for awhile or at least until JoAnn’s has another sale while I am in the states and then has something I like. Here are the before and after shots:
Presley’s baptism was great. Nicole gave a wonderful talk about baptism. Presley’s cousins and friends sang I am a Child of God and I spoke about the Holy Ghost. Presley was a bit nervous and she is a little more shy than I realized. Nicole and I both caused her to cry with our talks. She looked beautiful in the dress Susan made her from her mother’s wedding dress. After the baptism we had lunch with family and friends.
What I also love about the cute picture of Zak is his handsome dad in the background.
“Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.”                                                                                                                                                                                              Doctrine and Covenants 18:10
A couple of years ago I was drawn into the Repartee Gallery in Bountiful, Utah. I was letting my mom have a nap before I went back to spend more time with her. I scanned the shop and was instantly drawn to a Liz Lemon Swindle painting of Christ holding a young African boy. As I read the story of the painting , my eyes filled with tears. You see, Liz Lemon Swindle had been to Zambia. I was so touched because Zambia is where my baby served most of his mission and there is something deep in my soul that tells me that we might serve in Africa, too. That day I wanted to buy a large framed print for Alex. I settled for a matted 5″X7″ and found a frame at Target. For me, I purchased a small card with the print on one side and the story on the other. It has had a permanent place in my scriptures ever since. Each time I looked at it I longed for a larger one for my home.
In May, I decided I that I couldn’t wait any longer. I ordered a print and finally took it to be framed. I got it back today and it is gorgeous. Now, I just have to decide where to hang it. I want to be able to see it often.
P.S. Alex, are you jealous?
Last week a photographer from Saipan, Del Benson, stayed with us. He didn’t get to do much work because of the typhoon that came through last weekend. On Saturday he decided to “shoot” us.
